How many times have you sipped on a brew that is bright in color, has the right amount of briskness and a malty flavor? Well, if you have then probably, you have been sipping on the famous Assam tea bags.

Assam tea is a black tea which is known for its strong taste and color and is a great companion to your breakfast. However, Assam is not bounded by the standard tea gardening timing and follows a time of its own.

Time:

Assam witnesses a break of day as soon as 5 in the morning and ends within 5 pm. Due to this change; Assam fails to follow the usual time zone of 10 am to 6 pm. Thus, Assam processes their tea gardening following their unique time zone of 9 am to 5 pm. This shift in the ‘chai bagan time’ has ensured more productivity by the tea laborers.

Season and months:

The teas harvest season starts from March and extends to mid-November. The harvesting of the ‘tippy tea’ or tea leaves having a golden tip starts by late March and ends by the end of May or beginning of June. The brews that are harvested afterward, that is, bringing in monsoon and extends until the end of September has more of a sweeter and maltier taste that chai lovers die for. The teas that are harvested during autumn that is, during October to mid-November attain a tangy aroma with a musky flavor contributing to the kick start of your day.

Rainfall:

Assam witnesses rainfall that ranges from 100 inches to 150 inches per year. This rainfall is appropriate for tea gardening and contributes to the quality of your cup of cheer.

Temperature:

The ideal temperature for tea harvesting is around 20°C to 30°C. Assam also has large trees in between the tea shrubs to provide proper shade to help the bushes to grow and maintain its quality.

Did you know your cup of Assam tea bags cheer has immense health benefits? Assam tea is known for fighting infections and inflammation. The antioxidant and minerals present in the tea strengthens your immune system and improves blood flow. These antioxidants fight harmful cholesterols that are the main reason for strokes and heart attacks. Assam black tea also has anticancer properties and is also known to fight bad breath and improve oral health.

The exciting news is, Sipping on Assam Tea daily improves your digest system and in turn, helps in weight loss. Presence of amino acids in your brew fights fatigue and keeps you alert and focused, reducing the chances of mental diseases and tension.
